Shoppings for Baby

Weekend ~ Nothing much to do, since I need to work on Saturday, and hubby too.. After my afternoon nap and hubby settled his work, we went to Uptown to find dinner. Scouted around, finally found one shop selling Asian food, but I think mostly on Taiwanese food. The shop is called 'Asian Food House Restaurant'. Outside look not so attractive, but we decided to walk in and try. Food not bad, I ordered a set of taiwanese pork stew rice and hubby ordered ordered a set of lemon grass chicken rice. I didn't bring my camera along, so didn't shot the food pictures. But they looked delicious ~~

After the dinner, we drove to The Gardens. Went to Robinsons and Isetan as they are having sales now. We planned to only shop at the Kids' Department to find some baby clothes, see if can get to grab some good deals or not. So after walking around, managed to buy 2 pairs of baby clothes and a pair of mittens and booties at Baby Kiko (new arrivals have 10% discount) and a set of baby's grooming set which included a comb and a nail clipper.

Grooming Set for baby + A nipple cream for myself ~ I chose a set white shirt and pants while Hubby chose a set of stripes shirt at Baby Kiko and a very cute infant cap for baby...
On the cap is written: Dad & Me. Hubby is so proud of the cap he chose.
Today, fetched my bro and his friends to The Curve, so hubby and I also walked in to Anakku to have a look. They are also having their promotions now till 30th June. Baby clothes are having some good deals, Buy 2 Get 1 FREE. So we also grabbed one pair of baby clothes and a pair of mittens and booties. Another pants is for free because of the promotions :)

The official mega sales will start on 4th July. Hehehe... hubby said will bring me again when sales start. So, no need buy all one shot in a day. Haha, true also, then I can have more excuses to go out shopping lor ~~ Next weekend will be going back Taiping, so the baby clothes will also follow us back Taiping to wash and put there.

Nippon Yataimura ~

Last night after work, it was raining. So most places also very jam. When hubby came and fetched me for dinner, it was almost 7.30pm. A bit hungry already ~~ Really cannot think of what to eat, and it was raining, hubby suggested to me to go to One Utama instead... Then, I asked him, can I have Bento set as dinner? Hehehe... Fuiyo, hubby agreed to it! So, off we go. I asked him which shop we gonna eat, he didn't tell me, just asked me followed him will do :)

And finally, he stopped at Nippon Yataimura.... For those who always visit 1U, this is not a new restaurant, located next to Secret Recipe. But it has been ages that we didn't visit there. So surprised that hubby brought me here.

Hubby's ordered Gekikara Ramen which is with 'Triple Chillies' sign:
My Chicken Teriyaki Bento Set:
This time our re-visit, I am a bit disappointed with the quality of the food served, as the food is not as good as the last time we went. The Ramen which hubby ordered, although with triple chillies signals, but it was not as spicy as we imagined.... And my chicken bento set, taste average only... But lucky that the fried rice tasted nice ~~

A small, minor accident I had today ~

This morning, when I was driving to work, really donno what was I thinking at that time... I banged into a divider at a road corner... It was not a very serious banged, car was ok, perhaps the tyre might have some scratches. I stopped for a while, and for a few seconds, I think my brain was in a blank. Then I touched my tummy, asking my baby, 'Baby, are you ok?' I don't think I did hit anything onto the tummy, just to be safe, I kept on telling him, Is alright... Mummy is here, no need to scare ya ~~

Then I immediately informed hubby. Telling him what had happened... Donno is it after the minor banged, I psychologically feel a bit dizzy and feel my abdomen is a bit pain or the dizzy and pains are for real ~~ I really cannot differentiate it. But I still go to work. After a while, the minor abdomen pain seems like didn't get better, so I informed hubby again.

Perhaps hubby was a little shocked and anxious and donno what to do after I told him all these, he seemed like a bit reprimanded me, for being soooo clumsy and careless and always donno how to take care of myself properly. I can feel that hubby is worried for me at his side and told me perhaps I should go for a check-up with gynae if needed. But I seem to feel a bit harshness in him and straightaway I off my line and refused to continue talk to him....

After that I called up the clinic and informed the nurse what had happened, and took my number to see the gynae. During lunch time, I received a few smses from hubby, asking me have I gone for gynae checkup? Does he need to take leave to go with me to the clinic? Update him on anything after my checkup... Actually I was really touched when I got those smses from hubby. And perhaps pregnant lady is a bit weak, I seem can feel my teary eyes after I read those smses ~~

Luckily the bang did not hit my placenta, baby is fine and he is ok. Gynae scanned and checked every parts for me and asked me not to worry. Just that perhaps after the banged, baby in me was a bit shocked. My placenta water volume is lesser than the normal volume, which is not very good. So, gynae issued to me 2 days MC, and kept on reminded me, no shoppings for these 2 days, must rest more and cannot move too much.

I told hubby what gynae has said... Hubby said he will come back early from work to accompany me and ask me please be more extra careful from now.

This weekend supposingly I have one education fair to attend to, because of I need to be on MC, so colleagues need to help me again... Really feel very bad, when everyone is busy with education fairs, I seem like cannot contribute at all. Thank you, colleagues, for being so understanding!

At noon time, mum called, sister called, everyone asking how am I. Don't worry, everyone, I feel better after the afternoon nap, and I promise I will rest more...

Sorry ya, baby ~~ Mummy will be extra more careful next time when I am driving, won't let you get shock anymore. I will always pray for a healthy you!

26th Weeks of Pregnancy

Today marks my 26th weeks of pregnancy... Before I left the office today, I received an email from The Baby-Gaga Team which I subscribed before this so that I can learn a bit more about my fetal development besides the explanations from my gynae during my every monthly check-up...

The article is written like this....
Fetal development in pregnancy week 26:
At long last, your little swimmer can see the womb! Your miracle’s little eyelids have finally separated (they were fused closed previously) and they’re probably having their first moments of sight as you read this (or maybe it already happened while you were brushing your teeth or watching Oprah or something). In addition to seeing their little studio in your belly, they’ve recently acquired the ability to say “yes” and “no” in rudimentary sign language as they can now move their head back and forth. This is also the time where your little super star’s head hair is starting to grow! A cute little cowlick or two may be springing into position right now, getting ready for years of cute-but-stubborn bed-head. Also, their toenails have grown in and you little raisin continues to slowly pile up fat beneath their still-loose skin. Most importantly, brain tissue and neurons are all developing at a rapid pace, increasing their (genius-level?) brain activity and will continue to function at accelerated levels for the first seven to eight years of childhood!

More article can be read at: http://pregnancy.baby-gaga.com/calendar/week26

Today, hubby also starts to read the story book that we bought before this, Jack and the Beanstalk, to our baby. I think at this stage, baby is able to hear and react to sounds from the outside world. When hubby is reading the story, I think our baby's little ears are picking up the sounds of hubby's voice. I just feel tonight our baby's kicking was a bit harder than previous nights, perhaps I was over-sensitive, but I saw the skin on my tummy popped-up a little bit when he kicked. Isn't it amazing?

Well baby, tomorrow your daddy will continue to read the story for you.... ^_^ Hope you enjoy listening ya ~~

Monthly Check-up with Gynae

Today, hubby accompanied for my monthly check-up. We were one week late than the normal schedule. Supposed to go on last week, but last Saturday was a public holiday, and the clinic was closed. So, we postponed it to this week instead. Wow, even though I am the first one to call the clinic at 8.45am to take my number, but my turn is number 9. According to the nurse, there were 8 people waiting before me early in the morning outside the clinic before it was officially opened at 9am. Gosh...

As of today, I should be at my 25th weeks and 2 days of pregnancy. Today's check-up was quite a quick one as nothing much need to ask from the gynae and it was another routine monthly check-up.

We saw baby's movements through the ultrasound, heard his heartbeat, and got to know that he is now weighing about approximately 900 grams now. Hehehe ~~ Baby is growing... Wanted to capture a picture of him, gynae helped me to do the 3D scan, but then baby's hide his face from us using his hands, so we couldn't see him clearly. So no point printed out the 3D picture, so the gynae helped us printed out a 2D picture instead.

Then the gynae told me I need a jab on this round of check-up. I forgot what is the name of the injection. She did explain to me, I listened, but then I forgot already. All I remembered is to protect the baby and me. So, I obediently sat down there for the jab, and then realized ~ Oh gosh, after the injection, my left hand is sooo tired ~~ According to the nurse there, this injection needs 2 doses. So next month, perhaps I will have another one. But will need to confirm with the gynae again on next month. I did ask the nurse on the jab that I took and she explained to me that part of the functions is to protect baby and me from Tetanus.

After that, gynae advised me that I can start to take some fish oils, and asked me did I take any before this? I told her I am eating now and the brand is called NeuroGain. She then explained to me the difference between a commercial fish oil and the one that she is recommending me to take. This particular fish oil that she recommends is molecularly distilled. She explained to me the meaning of molecularly distilled and told us that she herself is also taking this type of fish oil only.

But again, she told me, it is up to me to choose. But since one bottle of the NeuroGain only consists of 30 tablets, and they are also finishing soon, so hubby told me to get one bottle from the gynae and eat. Gynae told me to consume them for 2 months are enough already.

Before I left the clinic, the nurse gave me a few packets of milk powder samples again. So nice of her. This time, one of the samples come with a very nice pink pouch and a few brochures contain some information for us to read.

So when I got home, I goggled and found these two articles on:
1) 'Why Choose Molecularly Distilled Fish Oil' at http://www.nutritional-supplements-health-guide.com/molecularly-distilled-fish-oil.html. Part of the article is written like this: [Molecular distillation is a purification method which is conducted in vacuum. It is actually an industrial standard procedure which is best for the purification of vitamins. Molecular distillation is the only process that can effectively remove metals, PCBs and other harmful toxins to a level that is perfectly safe for human consumption.]

2) About Tetanus: http://kidshealth.org/parent/infections/bacterial_viral/tetanus.html. Part of the article is written like this: [Neonatal tetanus can be prevented by making sure that all pregnant women have had their tetanus immunizations, by delivering babies in sanitary conditions, and by proper umbilical cord care. If you are pregnant, discuss your immunization record with your obstetrician well before your due date.]

I met Tun M in person!

Besides my normal jobscopes which are doing marketing and finding sales for the company, part of my jobs are also running around and covering events for my clients at the educational institutions. This is actually quite fun as I can see and meet different types of people and experience different things. Despite carrying a tummy at my 24th weeks of pregnancy, I chose to go and cover this event at Limkokwing University to see someone whom I always wanted to see him in person. Yesterday, I drove to Limkokwing University for the event of ‘Conferment of Honorary Doctorate of Humanity’ upon YABhg Tun Dr Mahathir bin Mohamad – In tribute to his landmark contributions to Malaysia and the Developing World.

I reached there about 9am, but Tun M arrived with his wife at around 10am. It was a very crowded event, with lots of people, public, invited guests, students and medias. We followed him walked around the campus and visited a few galleries. It was quite tiring for me, as I need to climb up and down the staircases following the campus tour. But to me, it really worth it as I can see Tun M and his wife in such a near distance, and shot photographs of them. This is really a very memorable day for me as I always wish can get to see both of them in person, and finally, my wish came true yesterday…. Although I saw them once before at outside Ikea, but did not have a chance to take photographs with them at that time ~~

I managed to get this group photograph shot when all the medias were busy with Tun M walking at the front and Tun Siti Hasmah was walking behind looking at some of the products showcased ~
Tun M with his speech ~
Performance by Limkokwing University's students with 140 students from different countries ~
A special day to be remembered ~~

~ 6th June 2009 ~

Today marks the date which I have traditionally married to my hubby exactly for 6 months... For the past 6 months, I have been living in a happily married life, with a baby that we are waiting for him to arrive sometime by the end of September and finally bought our house which maybe can only move in by year 2012. But then is ok, as long as I am with hubby, and he takes good care of me and my family, I am very happy already ~~

As today hubby needs to work, so we actually stayed at home whole day until dinner time. After dinner, hubby brought me to One Utama for some window-shopping. It was very crowded, perhaps due to public holiday. After scouting around and bought a magazine at MPH, we finally found a place to sit down and rest. We happened to pass by this shop called 'Excellent Herbal Food Centre' at LG, and saw that besides selling a lot of different herbs, they are selling desserts too. So hubby suggested us to go in and I can have their 'Double-boiled Snow Jelly with fresh milk and gingko'. This is a very nice dessert and most of all, it is not very sweet... It costs RM12.00 per bowl.

Hubby ordered for himself another similar one but is with white fungus instead of snow jelly coz it is cheaper in price, RM6.00 per bowl... :)

ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

I still remembered, last Tuesday, when the baby toys arrived at my office, I immediately informed hubby about it. Hubby knows I am very happy when I received the toys, for sure he can sense through the message I sent to him. He seems to be can read my mind, no matter I am happy or unhappy on each and everyday…

Our little conversation after I received the toys:

Me: Dear, the toys arrived lor, got sound wan, very cute and got one small mirror too… hehehe…

Hubby: Good la… so tonite can continue shopping again lor.

Me: But I am cooking dinner tonite worr…

Hubby: Don’t cook la, tonite I bring you go eat Haagen-Dazs ice-cream.

Me: Ic... u don wan me cook is it? (before I finished typing the next sentence, hubby wrote to me as below)

Hubby: I really dun like u cook lo, dun make urself too tired la…

Upon reading this, deep inside my heart, really sweet, really feel happy… (although that night I didn’t choose to eat the ice-cream coz we went to eat some other things)… Really feel that I am should be the luckiest woman now, enjoying the feeling of being pampered and being loved by my lovely hubby.

Hubby, thank you for giving me a happy day on everyday! You must be knowing, a pregnant wife is not easy, that’s why you are using all your ways to make me feel comfortable and happy… You must be knowing, a pregnant wife might be moody at times, that’s why you have been giving in to me all the time.. Bringing me for shopping, searching with me for baby things, eating nice-nice food, etc. Thank you!

谢谢你老公, 现在幸福,因为我有你!

Thank you, hubby! I am very happy & contented now, because I have you!

New things for me and baby ~~

Yesterday after work, hubby brought me to One Utama for dinner. After the dinner, we walked from old wing to new wing, hehehe.... thought of wanna ask hubby accompanied me to go and see Joanna Wang. She was there having her mini concert cum signing album event. But after waited until 8.45pm, she also not yet turned up, so we walked off without getting to listen to her beautiful voice on live.

After walking for some time, donno where to go, so we went into a shop selling maternity dresses. I have been to this shop a few times, bought once before at that shop. Really like their dresses, very nice designs and material quite good. This time, they are having 'Buy 1 Free 1' promotion. As all the new arrivals are quite expensive, so I mostly look at those 'Buy 1 Free 1' items... Got to try on a few dresses and pants. But hubby wanted me to buy those one piece dress, he said is easier and no need to think of how to mix and match all the time... And finally, I managed to choose 2 dresses which hubby and I also found them quite nice when I tried them on. I very like it, and after discussed with hubby, we decided to buy it. Hurray! I do not know is this considered a good deal or not, but I bought these 2 dresses at RM 179.90 with the promotion. But just imagine, if there is no promotion, I can only get to buy one dress with the same price...:)

Oh ya, last week, my sister was here in KL. Before this she helped me bought some baby's things from Jusco. According to her, Jusco is having some anniversary sales, and if you purchased with the Jusco coupons, Avent products will have 30% discount. So she helped me bought a few items. As I am thinking of slowly buy bit by bit, so I just told her to help me buy those she thinks are important first. So, she bought for me:
2 Silicone Teats 3m+, One pair of Night Time Silicone Soothers/Pacifier 0-3 months, One pair of Silicone Soother/Pacifier 0-3 months, One pair of Translucent Silicone Soother/Pacifier 3-6 months and One box of Washable Breast Pads (bag 6's) from Avent.

Besides those things bought from Avent counter, my sister also helped me to buy one pack of baby napkins (10 pieces) from Pigeon with 15% discount and one box of Anakku nappy liners. Sister said the nappy liners can help to prevent nappy rash and keeps baby's bottom dry. So she helped me bought one box first for my baby to try. Really wanna thank her soooo much for helping me do all these shoppings!! All I need to do is just to fork out money and pay her :) But seriously, with the 30% discount, really helped me save some money from there ~~ All the baby's things above cost me RM 159.75 ^_^

Today hubby needs to work, so cannot accompany me to eat dinner. So I had my dinner with my brother and Ah Wei. Really cannot think of what to eat, so we drove to Sunway Damansara there to scout and see. Turned a few rounds, still cannot find a right place to eat, so we drove to the opposite new shoplots, and so happened to let us found one Korean Restaurant ~ Bulgogi House ~ Outside the shop written a promotion board, 'Value Meal - RM 9.98 Everyday'.
