Family @ Seoul: Day 3 – Seoul Grand Park

It was a perfect weather on Day 3 at Seoul. After 2 days of raining on and off, finally we saw sunshine. So, without thinking twice, we proceed on with our initial planning which was to bring the boys for a visit at the Zoo.

Seoul Grand Park –

I couldn’t recall how I came across knowing about this Zoo. While searching information for children activities in Seoul, I happened to read an article about this Zoo. Now, wanted to search back the article, but couldn’t locate the website. However, it is OK… You can read the actual history and activities run in this Zoo at their website: http://grandpark.seoul.go.kr/Eng/html/seoul/0101_intro.jsp

The hotel, which I stayed in, was very convenient. It is just located next to Seoul Subway Line (#4). From Myeong-dong station, without need to change any other subway line, we can straight sit to Seoul Grand Park station. It is 13 stations away. Although a long ride, however, the boys enjoyed it! I think it took us around 50-60 minutes to reach the Zoo’s entrance (subway + walking distance to the Zoo).

We used almost 6 hours in the park, and yet we did not finish exploring it! It is really a very big and spacious Zoo. When we reached in the morning, it was still quite empty. Not many visitors yet. But when we left around evening, it was very crowded (with mostly local Koreans). I think should be their family outing day.

Ticket Price –

I couldn't remember how much in total we actually paid for our tickets included the boys. I have the pictures from my camera as reference. Perhaps this is not a tourist attraction, hence the ticket sales counter staffs do not speak simple English. Initially, we had some difficulties in getting information. So she pointed the ticket price's board for us to see without understanding our questions. This was one of the down side we faced at the Zoo's entrance.

Overall, this trip to the Zoo was indeed a one good. Although it was really a very tiring walk, most importantly was the boys enjoyed it so much! They got to learn some new knowledge on animals. An eye-opening and impressive outdoor trip for the boys ~
