From Nagoya to Shirakawa-go (Part 1) - Via Takayama

This trip to Japan, my only wish list was to visit Shirakawa-go. I extended my wish to Hubby and he did not reject my idea of putting Shirakawa-go in part of our schedules. I was seriously excited over this! However, to reach Shirakawa-go via Tokyo was not an easy task. We need to travel to a few cities via train and bus rides in order to reach the destination. But it was definitely a very worth one! You will never regret getting there despite all the hassles and preparations beforehand.

Well, one can Google about Shirakawa-go and I will not write further about this village in my blog post but it is a MUST go list if you ever visiting Japan. Indeed amazing views!

20 December 2016 –

We woke up very early at Nagoya to catch the train ride to Takayama. We took-away our Breakfast from the local McD to eat in the train in order not to miss the scheduled train time. Every minute is so precious here and every train ride is very punctual. Not even one minute late... Need to really follow the train rides timing! And, our real adventures shall begin today ^^

My McD breakfast with Chicken and Vegetables patty. Yummy!

Beautiful Sceneries on the train ride to Takayama… The photos explain it all!

We arrived at Takayama to collect our bus tickets to Shirakawa-go. We had actually pre-booked the bus tickets earlier through the assistance from the hotel’s owner at Nagoya. I seriously wanted to thank her for this! Without her help, I don’t think my planned schedule could be so smooth as the bus tickets to Shirakawa-go are very limited. Our bus seats were confirmed before we reached Japan.

As we reached earlier at Takayama, so we took a bit of time to look out for lunch. After storing our luggages in the Coin Locker in front of the bus station, Hubby and I were on the streets of Takayama looking for lunch. A lot of shops were still closed perhaps it was a Sunday. Finally, we found one which was opened! After our "chicken & duck talk" for a while, what we understood was only the "char siew set" explained by the waitress. So, off we ordered it to try out. Hehe!

After lunch, Shirakawa-go, here we come! Very excited ~
