Travelling Guide Books

1st March 2010: We went to MPH to search for some books for Kimi. Happened to pass by the travelling section and saw some languages Pocket Dictionary. After browsing through, we decided to get a smaller one with a cheaper price because it is easier to keep a small dictionary in a handbag. So when we are in Tokyo, at least we can mumble out a simple word to express ourselves if we need something and this pocket dictionary can be helpful during that time.

11th March 2010: I was in KLIA waiting to board the plane to fly to Kuching. Casually walked into one of the book stores and saw a few shelves which displayed travelling guidebooks published by Lonely Planet. After called up hubby explaining to him on the contents of the book, he agreed to let me buy it. Hehe, so happy! But this small guidebook seems like very informative and easy to carry around. It shows to us the city maps, which train to take and the opening hours of each shop, etc. I will explore more on this guidebook in hoping that I can get to know Tokyo more ~~

A weekend with Kimi ~

Last Friday night, I went back to Taiping without hubby. He was down with fever so I followed his brother's car back to Taiping myself to visit Kimi. PIL needed to attend a wedding dinner at Ipoh on Saturday, so I was at home alone with Kimi. Spent some quality time with him, played with him, read to him some nursery ryhmes and watched Barney with him as well. Time flies, next week Kimi will be 7 months soon already ~

This round back to Taiping, Kimi seemed to grow chubbier already. He has a lot of different expressions to show to me. Turn his body here and there to show to me. Haha... At first I was still quite worried that Kimi might refuse to let me feed him. But all the worries seemed to be nothing as Kimi let me feeded him with milk and let me put him into sleep at night ~~ Whenever he was with me sitting with me at the living room, he seemed to be quite obedient and can play by himself. Perhaps he want to show to his mummy that he has been a good boy all these while. Ask me no need to worry about him. Haha :)

~ Kimi was playing with Mummy in his room ~
~ Kimi was paying full attention when watching the 'Barney' show. He likes to watch Barney very much compare to others cartoon characters ^_^ ~
Supposed going to spend my one whole week with him, but hubby's fever still not yet fully recover. So I didn't manage to bring Kimi back to KL this time. The plans will be postponed to end of this month instead.

Hope hubby can recover soon and can play with Kimi on this weekend when we travel back to Taiping to visit him again ^_^

Kimi at 6 Months & 2 Weeks

On Tuesday night we received 2 MMS from PIL. They sent to us a couple of Kimi's photos. Wow, I 4 weeks didn't see him in person, he looks like a big boy to me now from the photos. Very, very looking forward to see him tomorrow and spending my next one week with him ~~

This photo was taken by hubby when he was with Kimi 2 weeks ago in Taiping. Hubby MMS it to me when I was in Kuching ~

Wish I can have more and more days with Kimi ~ I want to see him growing up day by day ^_^

Motherhood Expo 2010 at MVEC

Last Friday after work, I went to Mid Valley with a colleague of mine. I wanted to visit the 'Motherhood Expo 2010' and my colleague last minute decided to follow me to MV for window shopping.

After a satisfying Korean food as dinner at The Gardens, we walked to MV and happened to see the 'Alice in Wonderland' decorations in Mid Valley Megamall. So both of us also joined in the crowd to shot a few photos. Very beautiful decorations and a lot of people were so busy taking photographs there.

Then we walked to the Motherhood Expo located at the Mid Valley Exhibition Centre. Perhaps it was a Friday night, and when we reached, it was already near to 9pm, so the expo was not too crowded and a few stalls had closed. My purpose was to go there to gather some new knowledge for myself. So we just walked around to look and see. Before I left the exhibition hall, I stopped by a booth which was selling 'Buds' products. The price of the products sold there were much more cheaper compare to retail shops at outside such as Mom's Care, etc.

After spoken with the salesgirl there, I bought a few baby cream, cleanser and lotion for Kimi. All along, Kimi has been using its 'Nappy Time Change Cream' and I find that this product suits to Kimi's skin since he was born until now. MIL also finds that the cream is quite useful. We apply everytime when need to change nappy for Kimi. So I bought the 'Everyday Head to Toe Cleanser (With Aloe Vera)' for Kimi to try. Next week when Kimi is in KL, I can use this cleanser to bath him. Hehe :) Besides, I bought one 'Mozzie Clear Lotion' for him as well. According to the salesgirl there, this lotion can help to prevent from insects' bites and can be used to soothe existing bites. A really good bargain I had from there as the price were really much more cheaper!!

Before I left the booth, I bought another set of baby cream and cleanser for a very good friend of mine. The packaging looks so nice as a gift. My good friend recently gave birth for a baby girl. So this coming Tuesday when I am back to Pontian, I can pass this gift to her. I wrapped the present in a cute wrapping paper and attached a card to it.

Qi Si, Congratulations on your newborn baby!! Hope you like the little gift from me ~~

One more week before meeting up Kimi. So I used this weekend to clean up the whole house before Kimi comes :) Including this coming week, I am almost near to 4 weeks didn't get to see Kimi. Wondering how is he now? Does he grows chubbier? Hehe ^_^ Can't wait for next weekend to arrive !!

Searching for Hotel (1)

Hubby and I have been reading on travelling blogs, online websites and asking around from people who had been to Japan for more information. Hubby would prefer a local hotel with traditional Japanese-style tatami mat instead of the usual western-style guestrooms. However, we will check in a hotel which can view Tokyo night view on the first day when we reach Tokyo.

3rd March 2010: After searching around, hubby suggested to me that we can stay in Hotel Edoya. We read the online reviews on this hotel and find that it is not bad. The hotel fits into our budget and requirements. We finally decided to book at Hotel Edoya for 4 nights. This hotel is near Ueno area. Of course, every hotel has their good and bad comments, and it is impossible for us to take into account on so many remarks. So, after got the quotation from the hotel and discussed it with hubby, we have decided to make the reservations at this hotel. The Japanese-style room which we have booked has tatami mat floors, futon beds and traditional Japanese bathrooms.

Expenses 2:
Type of room = Japanese Style Standard Double Room (1 large futon bed shared by 2 people)
Number of nights =4
Total room charge = ¥ 41,340 Yen / room including taxes and breakfast
( check-in =October 8 )
( check-out =October 12 )

Estimated amount is in RM 1,569.55.

For now, we only left with one night hotel room pending for reservations. We want to book one room which is able to experience Tokyo night view. Need to search again for this.

While we were doing our research on the Japan trip, so coincidently to find out that the dates we have chosen to travel to Japan, fall on one of the Japan public holidays. So I think we need to be quick in deciding on the hotel to prevent from booking expensive hotel rates.

Planning For The Next Holidays: Tibet or Japan?

Last year, after hubby watched the movie ‘2012’ with me, after we came out from the cinema, he casually told me, ‘Dear, one day I will bring you to Tibet to have a look, while we still have the energy to walk and travel by ourselves’. Hehe, although I do not really know how Tibet looks like, all I can do is to imagine from the movie scenes how beautiful Tibet is. Deep inside my heart is happy, coz hubby is planning and has the intentions to bring me for a holiday in the near future.

After some research for some time, one day I suggested to hubby, I would prefer to go to Japan instead of Tibet. He gave it a thought and told me, ‘Ya, Japan is not bad too, perhaps we can consider also’. Japan is one of the countries that hubby promised to bring me for holidays one day when he can afford... And I know he always remember this in his heart. So in our planning, we have both Tibet and Tokyo in mind. Finally, after some reading and researching, we finally decided to choose Japan. Hehe :) When hubby decided on this, I was super happy coz he is fulfilling his promise to bring me to Japan for holidays.

After decided on the country to go, hubby counted his budget and told me that we can stay in Japan for 5 nights. So he chose to travel only in Tokyo. Although it will be a short trip, the effort of him wanting to bring me for holidays has made it sweet enough for me, I still feel super happy on this and very looking forward too. He told me he preferred to go on free and easy. I am fine with this idea. So, the next thing we need to do is to purchase the air tickets. We only have MAS and SIA in mind. So after we compare the prices, although SIA is cheaper, we ended up bought from MAS because we do not want to waste time on transiting flights.

9th February 2010: We finally bought the air tickets during the MAS online promotions for CNY!! That night after we confirmed the tickets, I think I couldn’t fall asleep for the whole night. Although we plan to go in October and it is still a long way more, I am very excited and thrilled over this holiday with hubby. It seems like a long time that both of us didn't really spend time for holidays. Now my whole brain is only thinking of how good it is if October can reach faster!

Expenses 1:
MAS Air Tickets for 2 Persons include of Travelling Insurance = RM 4,100.00
* We called up MAS office to book the air tickets as we failed to book it online. This price is RM120 higher than online booking as MAS charged an administrative fee of RM60 per person. As hubby finds the RM120 admin fee is quite acceptable, instead of wasting time to keep on try to book online but failed, so we bought the air tickets through telephone booking. An email confirmation was sent to us after the payment.

Step One DONE! The next will be the planning of itinery and searching for hotels in Tokyo ~

Me at Education Fairs ~

Finally, after the hectic months from December last year until March, I finally ended my travelling for Education Fairs and roadshows. The next one is still not sure on the dates yet. No instructions from my boss on the next trip.

Travelled to Kota Kinabalu and Kuching for our StudyMalaysia Education Fair 2010. Tiring and yet satisfying trips. Hope that the parents and students who came to our fair are able to get the right information on education and know what the correct pathway is for them. Good luck to all the students. Wish you all can find your right choice to study soon ~

A few of the photos at some of the recent education fairs which I have attended to:

They are some other photos but too lazy to upload so many of them. Hehe... Perhaps when I am more free, I will upload them in FB. There are more on the food which I had with colleagues and bosses after working so hard for the fairs. Haha :)

Really need a super good rest now... Replenish back those sleeps which I had lost for some weeks, and most of all, I need to spend more time for hubby and Kimi after this ~

Last Saturday, 6th of March, was Kimi's 6 months' old. I couldn't be there for him as I travelled to Kota Kinabalu for an education fair. Hubby went back to Taiping alone over the weekend to accompany Kimi and only will be back to KL tomorrow.

While hubby was in Taiping, he took this photo and MMS to me. This is how Kimi looks like when he is 6 months' old ~~

This weekend also need to travel for another outstation education fair. I won't be seeing Kimi again for this week. Haih... hope Kimi can remember me when I visit him on the next trip ^_^

Kimi Marching Into his 6 months' old ~

This coming 6th of March, Kimi is going to be 6 months' old. Time flies really fast. Perhaps I was busy with work and at the same time also busy travelling on most weekends to go back Taiping to visit Kimi, these 6 months passed real fast ~

Kimi on his 6 months' old - It is time for me to introduce some solids food to Kimi. To prepare myself better, I went to MPH bookstore to choose a baby food guide for some reading. After browsing through some baby books there, I finally chose this guide 'Fresh Food for Babies & Toddlers'. I am worry that I might not be able to prepare much for Kimi now as I will be busy travelling for work in these 2 to 3 weeks' time, so I will be using these time to read and then update MIL on what I wish to prepare for Kimi later. This is a very colourful and interesting food guide. It shows us on what type of food should be introduced to baby according to his age. I will explore it more when I am free and share the baby food recipes in the future.

'Fresh Food for Babies & Toddlers'
From MPH Bookstore
Barcode : 9781863966245
Price : RM24.90

At the meantime, I bought a small box of baby rusks for Kimi. He can try to eat them first for now. We tested a small piece on him yesterday. Hehe, perhaps the taste of milk has been quite bored for him, and letting him to try on the new food, is a new experience for him. He seemed to enjoy eating it very much!! I let Kimi to begin with only tiny quantities to make sure that he is comfortable with it. Hope he will like it and the next trip back Taiping, we can get a different favour or type for him.

Yesterday was 'Chap Goh Meh'. Hubby and I went back to Taiping over the weekend to spend some time with Kimi. We brought PIL, Kimi and hubby's Grandma & God-Parents to a local hotel for dinner. Kimi enjoyed the night very much as he was smiling and playing throughout the whole dinner.

These photos were taken at Hubby's house during Day 7th of CNY...

Well, a bit sad because I cannot be there when Kimi is marching into his 6 months' old on the 6th of March, but perhaps hubby will be heading back to Taiping himself to accompany Kimi on this coming weekend ^_^

Oh ya, MIL called us up last week and told us that Kimi seemed to show some signs on growing his teeth. Hubby and I are very excited over it. So last weekend we went back, we tried to touch on Kimi's teething gums, and his top gums seem a bit rough alreaady. Perhaps he starts to grow his teeth as what MIL told us last week. Hehe :) No wonder nowadays Kimi once a while does not drink milk obediently ~~ I think this should be the reasons behind it ~
