The Zun Kitchenette at Sunway Giza

Last weekend, PIL brought Kimi to KL to visit us. We spent our lovely weekend with Kimi. They reached on Saturday evening. It was raining quite heavily when they reached, so we decided to bring them to Sunway Giza Shopping Mall. It is a new shopping mall with indoor car parks. Since it is quite new, so I think on a Saturday night, it shouldn't be too crowded. True enough, it is not difficult to get a parking space even though at that time when we reached, it was the dinner time. Moreover, we told by the guards there, the parking fee for now is free.

This was also our first time there, so we did not know what to eat for dinner. After scouting around, out of curiosity, we decided to walk into 'The Zun Kitchenette' to have a try. This is the first time I came across a restaurant operated by 'Eu Yan Sang'. They do also sell their 'Eu Yan Sang' products in the shop as well.

In the menu, all the food only serves in one size. As only four of us, so we did not order a lot of food, worried the portions might be too big and we could not finish it. The listing of the food looks special to me. The food menu shows how our Chinese herbs can be used in regular cooking. Certain food serves with different types of herbs. For example, if you feel that you are on the heaty side, and wish to eat something to reduce your body heat, they do serve food with the ingredients to assist you on this.

After browsing through the menu, we ordered the 'Braised Fish with chinese herbs', Crispy Boneless Chicken with vinegar sauce', 'Pork Chop with red wine', 'Bak Zhan Black Chicken Soup', 'Ginseng Soup with Six Flavour' and 'Vegetables of the Day'. They serve 2 types of rice. Besides, we ordered the 'Rooibos Tea' for drinks. This tea contains no colors, additives or preservatives and most of all no caffeine. Very nice to drink. I personally very like it!

All the food we ordered tasted delicious, except for the vegetables which tasted quite normal. We had a nice family dinner together. PIL seemed to enjoy the food very much!

If you have Eu Yan Sang membership card, you are entitled for a 10% discount in the restaurant. Well, overall, we had a nice outing with Kimi around ~~

A trip to Melaka with only 24 hours

A few of my colleagues had planned earlier to go Melaka on last Saturday. They asked me if I wanted to join them or not. After discussed with hubby and arranged my time, I finally decided to go with them. We went in 2 cars, one is my colleague and another one is hubby's car. I borrowed it from him to fetch a few of my colleagues. A short Melaka trip, 2 days 1 night, and only 24 hours to maximise the whole trip ~

After our working Saturday and lunch, we started our Melaka journey lor !! The moment we reached there, we straight drove to eat the famous 'Satay Celup' in my Melaka. We ate at the Restoran Capitol. Not long after we went in, the queue started and we were actually considered quite lucky that we did not need to queue that long. Well, I personally feel that, the satay celup serves at this restaurant is not so delicious, the gravy tastes a bit bitter for me. All I can see throughout the whole eating session was that the waitress kept on help you to add in peanuts, sugar, and some dark brown ingredients (cannot guess what is that) into the gravy to make it thicker and thicker.... If I were to be really in that long queue, I personally felt that the queue was not really worth it. Haha... Who knows, perhaps different people, different taste ~ I prefer the 'Satay Celup' serves at Jalan Ong Kim Wee more.

Some of the food that we had in Melaka:
Chicken Rice Balls, Cendol, Nyonya Laksa, Nyonya, Food, Local Coffee, etc ~~

This particular 'Jalan-Jalan Cari Makan' trip, we really made full use of every seconds. Haha... So most of the food we actually ordered in small quantity or lesser portions so that we had extra stomach space for the next meals... Eating non-stop! Keng!!!

Some of the activities we had in Melaka:
Melaka River Cruise, A Famosa exploration, Foot and Head Massage, Jonkers Street, Perigi Hang Li Po, etc ~~

Our lovely Group photographs ~ Thanks to our dearest colleague, Ms. Reyna, for shooting and sharing all the photos with us!! She is our photographer during the whole trip. Thank you! Without you, I think we cannot pose much to fit into the camera. Hehe ^_^

I really have a very wonderful trip with them this round to Melaka. Glad to have join you all for this Melaka trip! A wonderful colleagues' gathering I have this time ~~

Spaghetti with My Own Style

Last night, hubby said he was tired and need to sleep as he was on night shift for these 2 weeks. So he asked me to ‘tapao’ dinner back for him instead of going out to eat. I drove around my office area for some time after work, really couldn’t figure out what to buy, so I decided to go back home to cook dinner.

It was a last minute decision to cook for dinner, so I just took out what I had in the house and from the fridge. Finally decided to cook spaghetti but with the ingredients I could find from the fridge. Spaghetti sauce was made up from half a bottle of ‘Barilla’ Napoletana sauce and I added in some extra tomatoes and prawns to make it tasted nicer. Then I fried two eggs, sliced it and then fried some small ‘ikan bilis’ to spread on top of the spaghetti.

~ Spaghetti with my Own Style ~
A very weird combination but taste alright for both of us ^_^ Hubby finished up the whole plate of spaghetti without complaining. So I assumed it tasted nice for him... Hehe :)

I used the 'fried ikan bilis' to replace Cheese powder. Haha... Well, not a bad replacement I personally find. I can do it again the next time if my house running out of cheese powder again ^_^

Here is the dinner for last night ~~

ShinY's Chicken Chop

It seemed to be quite some time that I didn't really spend time to cook a nice meal for Hubby. For the past few months, work had been quite tied-up, so most the time also cook some simple Chinese food for dinner.

Yesterday after work, I went to 'Jaya Grocer' and did some light grocery shoppings, bought some ingredients to prepare for tonight's dinner. I decided to cook Western food for Hubby. As I am not really a good cook, just know a little bit here and there, so I try to do the easiest type - 'Chicken Chop'. Hopefully can be successful ~~

~ Some of the ingredients which I bought and prepared for the Dinner ~

Of course there were also some other ingredients which I used to marinate the chicken which include black pepper, sesame oil, light soy sauce, wine, etc...

Dang! Dang! Dang! ..... Here comes the outcome of my dinner today ~~

Kimi is 7 Months' Old today!

6th April 2010 - Kimi is 7 months' old today! Time flies really fast worr ~

Last Friday, hubby and I travelled back to Taiping to visit Kimi. We bought a pair of baby's sunglasses for Kimi last week at KL. So this time we go back, we let Kimi tries on it. We want to let him wear this once a while when we go outdoor but will be under our supervision as sunglasses is not a toy for baby to play with ~

As weekend was a busy weekend for PIL, they went to sweep the tombs with other relatives as the 'Qingming Festival' was on last Monday. Hubby and I need to also help to take care of his younger cousins while the rest of the adults went out. So, in the morning, we brought them to have breakfast at McD with Kimi.

This weekend I am working on Saturday, so won't be visiting Kimi at Taiping. Perhaps can only visit him in another weekend. MISS !!
