One will never miss out the Arashiyama Bamboo
Forest if you are taking the Sagano Train Rides. It is within walking distance
and it is definitely a must go tourist spot. There is rental bicycles service
as well which you can ride it for the whole day, but due to our time’s constraint,
we did not rent the bicycles as we did not plan to stay long at this spot. We
followed the road signs / arrows and it lead us to the Bamboo Forest after an
estimated of 20 minutes walking from the Sagano Train Station. As the weather
is very cooling, so we walked leisurely to the destination. Not in a hurry
though.
As we walked nearer to the Bamboo Forest, we could see those trishaws rides around. As the trishaws rides were not cheap, we opted this option out to try. Instead, we continued to walk. After trying to settle down our lunch by scouting a few nearby restaurants, we finally decided to eat at a roadside stall located at the entrance of the Bamboo Forest. Another new experience for me, another sweet memory! I think to stand by the roadside to eat without a proper table with Hubby was indeed one of the sweet memories I would like to record down. And the Udon in Japan, never fail me, no matter which roadside stall or any walk in restaurant I had tried! Really delicious.
After a fruitful lunch, we continued to
explore the forest. It was green, really green! One can feel the serene in the
forest with loads of fresh air to breath in. It was a deep walk in but we
enjoyed every step of it.
Day 2 at Kyoto ended with another new try on
dinner and supper and both meals were indeed Yummy! We tried not to eat the same type of food choice, instead, we ate different varieties on every meals so that we could cover as much as we could during this Holidays for Two!
