RM 9.90 Set Lunch at 'Pizza vs Satay'

This afternoon, a few of my colleagues and I went to try at a new restaurant nearby our office, located at Aman Suria. The shop name is 'Pizza vs Satay', quite an unique name I find. The restaurant was opened not long ago, about 1 month plus ago only, so they are currently having promotions for 'Set Lunch At RM 9.90 nett'. We were actually attracted by the price and the varieties of set lunches they offer, so we decided to give it a try ~

They have a total of 7 types of choices available. Really very worth to give it a try it.
It comes with:
1) Soup of The Day
2) One Main Course
3) Dessert
4) Iced Lemon Tea
Besides the set lunches, they do also have other food available. Quite a wide variety also. We ordered one extra Salmon Pizza and one set of Garlic Bread. But these two food are on normal price, no promotions ~

The food served were very delicious, except for my colleague who ordered the Nasi Lemak Chicken Rendang. She finds the 'nasi lemak' not so tasty and the 'chicken rendang' not so well cooked, the meat not soft enough. Hehe... But overall, we really had a satisfied lunch. The restaurant is very cosy and the interior designs are very beautiful!

The Set Lunch Promotion is only valid on Monday to Thursday, 12pm - 2pm ONLY! Do try it out if you are somewhere nearby this area ~~

Restaurant: Pizza vs Satay Sdn. Bhd.
Address: K-G-11, Jalan PJU 1/43, Aman Suria, 47301 Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

Presents for Baby

Last Saturday, my sister was here in KL with her hubby. She brought some presents for the baby on this trip. Hehe... Got baby shirts, bibs, socks, mittens and booties ~~ The pair of mitten and booties are from my youngest sister. She is still studying, so sweet of her to use her pocket money to buy the little present for my baby :) As for the rest, are from my 2nd sister and her hubby. Thanks ya!! They look so cutie ~~

My youngest auntie was back from the US 3 weeks ago for her business trip in Singapore. She came back to Pontian as well over the weekend to visit my grandma and the rest of those family members back at home. I didn't manage to meet up with her at Pontian. She bought some presents for my baby as well. So my sister brought them to KL for me. Thanks ya, Sheau Ku!!

Some shirts, a pair of lovely shoes and a little teddy bear ~~

Milk Bottles from Avent ~

This set of feeding bottles, supposingly I wanted to buy online through Amazon.com, but they don't ship this set of product to Malaysia. So, I asked my auntie to help me purchase it in US. Instead of me paying for it, she gave to me as present as well. Really thanks her a lot to bring back so many things for me all the way from US...

Baby, you see, you have so many people dote on you ~~ You must be happy ya ~~

But, this set of feeding bottles are transparent yellow in colour, looks a bit different to me, as I always see transparent white bottles here. Why is it so? Maybe need to consult some of my friends on this... This new mummy-to-be still not so knowledgeable yet :)

The Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI)

Below is some information which I found on Internet regarding ‘The Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative’ from http://www.unicef.org/programme/breastfeeding/baby.htm.

* Have a written breastfeeding policy that is routinely communicated to all health care staff.
* Train all health care staff in skills necessary to implement this policy.
* Inform all pregnant women about the benefits and management of breastfeeding.
* Help mothers initiate breastfeeding within one half-hour of birth.
* Show mothers how to breastfeed and maintain lactation, even if they should be separated from their infants.
* Give newborn infants no food or drink other than breast milk, unless medically indicated.
* Practice rooming in - that is, allow mothers and infants to remain together 24 hours a day.
* Encourage breastfeeding on demand.
* Give no artificial teats or pacifiers (also called dummies or soothers) to breastfeeding infants.
* Foster the establishment of breastfeeding support groups and refer mothers to them on discharge from the hospital or clinic.

More information can be read at the posted link as above ~~

Attending Antenatal Classes

Last Saturday, hubby and I attended our first Antenatal Class at Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur located at the neighbourhood of Bangsar. Each classes will be about 2 to 3 hours. There are a total of 5 classes which inclusive of:

Session 1:
- Nutrition In Motherhood
- Features of Newborn

Session 2:
- Process of Labour
- Pain Relief in Labour

Session 3:
- Breastfeeding & Childhood Survivor
- Getting The Right Start to Breastfeeding
- Pamper Your Body

Session 4:
- Prenatal Execises

Session 5:
- Care of Newborn
- Tour of Delivery Suite / Post Natal Ward / Breastfeeding Room

The class on Saturday started at 12pm and ended near to 3pm. It was quite an interesting class and refreshments were served. I realized that most couples and mummies seemed to enjoy their class very much. The nutritionist talk was a informative one as I got to know what type of food to replace instead of eating more supplements. She also showed us a list of healthy snacks to eat during the pregnancy time.

As the doctor for the talk of ‘Features of Newborn’ had an emergency to attend to on that Saturday, so the class was replaced by ‘Care of Newborn’. During this session, we learnt how to take of our newborn baby, how to bath the baby, etc. The speaker made it a very interesting one. She informed us what to bring to the hospital during the delivery day and what need to do. Besides, she also told us on what type of things can be used and what not to use on a newborn baby... Hubby and I learned some new knowledge during the class. Really worth the effort of attending the class :)

The coordinator informs us that Pantai Hospital is a 'Baby Friendly Hospital' which promotes, supports and protects breastfeeding exclusively from birth up to 6 months. She also informs us that baby will be rooming together with the mummy throughout the stay in the hospital so that the mummy will be there for the baby needs at anytime, instead of separate the baby in another room. There will be a class on how to bath the baby correctly in the ward as well during the stay in the hospital. So, our confinement lady or maid or hubby can also join in the class to learn together if they wish to. Hehe…

This is a very good idea I find, as I am a new mummy, a lot of things need to learn from the nurse during my stay in the hospital ~~ Moreover, we can go back to the hospital during the period of six months after our delivery (once a month), to get consultation and guidance for breastfeeding. The nurses there will assist and guide us throughout the breastfeeding journey…

But, now question is, am I able to do that?
Hehe… I can only know the answer after my delivery ^_^

Weekend Gateaway @ Genting Highlands

Yesterday, hubby and I drove up to Genting Highlands as planned few weeks ago with my sister and her hubby. We booked a room at Theme Park Hotel together. When we reached there, it was almost 6pm and met up my cousin and my brother over there at Genting. They drove up earlier than us because hubby and I went to attend the antenatal class at Pantai Hospital at Bangsar until 3pm while my sister went for her shopping spree at Mid Valley.

This '2 days 1 night' short holiday trip, should be my pregnancy holidays before I go for my delivery on the end of September. Hehe... so I fully made use of it. When we reached, we first had the chicken rice for dinner, then followed by the yummy chicken chop as supper in one of the western food restaurant in the casino. Then the next morning, we had 'dim sum' as breakfast...

The 'dim sum' restaurant as usual, still so crowded ~

This round, I felt that the 'dim sum' served was not as nice as it used to be ~

My sister and the chubby Me ~

Me outside the Theme Park ~

Hubby and I at Chin Swee Temple ~

These photos were taken at my 31 weeks & 3 days of pregnancy. Next time hope can show to my baby the chubby mummy ~~ Hehe :)

Shoppings for Baby

Yesterday after work, hubby fetched me to The Gardens, wanted to buy the pillow we saw at Robinsons before this since now is sales period. But after we reached there, compared the prices between a few brands, we ended up bought the pillow and bolster from 'Bumble Bee' counter. Hope that the pillow is comfortable for the baby to sleep on.

Today after dinner, we walked into the Mom's Care shop in One Utama, wanted to see any cheaper shirts to buy or not. Hubby saw the promotion tag, 'Buy 2 for RM25'. So we bought 2 bodysuits for baby. As my sister will be giving some of her baby's clothes to me as well, so we only bought one size for newborn and one size for 0-3 months. Besides, we bought one infant cap and a pair of mittens & booties as well.

Ok, as far as baby's apparels are concerned, I think we have bought all are needed. Hope won't left out any, and also hope won't over buy as well...

Apparels we have bought for our baby so far:
- Baby clothes: 6 pairs (3 long sleeves + 1 short sleeves + 2 bodysuits)
- Infant cap: 2 pcs
- Mittens and Booties: 4 pairs
- Swaddle blanket: 1 pc
- Bibs: 2 pcs
- Wash cloths: One packet of 8 pcs
- Bath towel: 2 pcs
- Baby blanket: 2 pcs

We don't buy any receiving blankets for baby yet as currently we still cannot see the need of buying it. Perhaps will consider later if really needed ~~

Presents for Baby

Today after work reached home, I received the parcel which Amy told me last week. She said she posted a little gift for my baby. Amy, thanks for the present! I very like it ~~ The shirt looks so handsome and cutie! When my baby grows up, I will remind him to thank Amy-阿姨 for the shirt. If got chance, maybe can wear to Singapore and visit you too :)

Last Friday, I met up Claudia at One Utama. She passed me some things for my little baby too. Thanks ya, Claudia! Luckily I haven't topped up towels for my baby, now Claudia gave me plus a few that I bought earlier, I think should be enough for the baby to use already.

Baby, you see, so many 阿姨s bought you presents worr... Thanks ya, everyone!!

Klang 'Bak Kut Teh'

Last Saturday, after I attended my public forum and after hubby finished watching the Man U vs Malaysia friendly football match over Astro live telecast, he suggested to me to drive to Klang to eat ‘bak kut teh’ for dinner. Hurray! It seems like a long time we didn’t go to Klang for ‘bak kut teh’ already. So, off we go, together with my brother and our housemate...

When we reached Klang, it was almost 9pm. Not many choices of shops for us to choose since the dinner time almost over, so we decided to drop by the shop named ‘Fong Keow Bak Kut Teh’. I think this shop has renovated since the last time I visited them. I think they expanded the shops as well to a few shoplots if not mistaken.

It is still as crowded with customers and I think the choices of dishes also increased since the last time I went. The food was served quite fast although the shop was crowded with customers. The assam fish is nice, but the ‘bak kut teh’ taste seems a bit not so strong already. Perhaps it was already late, so I personally felt that the soup also diluted a bit already. The restaurant itself gives me a feel like I am on Chinese New Year mood. Hahaha… Anyway, overall, the dinner was satisfying! :)

Gathering with Coursemates

Last Friday, a few of my coursemates were here in KL from Penang. They were here to watch the MU vs Malaysia football match at Bukit Jalil.

As planned earlier, we met up at One Utama on Friday night for dinner. Venue was ‘Good Evening, Bangkok’ located at new wing. That Friday evening, everywhere seemed so jam. By the time all of them arrived, it was already 9pm. I was the first one to reach there as I was at 1U for an event until 6pm. Luckily, when I was at the restaurant by 7.30pm, two of my coursemates arrived around half an hour later.

While waiting for the rest to arrive, we ordered our drinks and a plate of appetizer which had four side dishes so that we won’t feel so hungry while waiting. We chatted until finally the rest of them arrived. Once they arrived, we ordered our food with the recommendations from the waiter. As they were 8 of us, so we ordered a table full of food, got seafood tom yam, green curry chicken, pandan leaves chicken, mango salad, etc... Hehehe… Luckily the portions were not very big, we managed to finish all of them while chatting throughout the whole night. Food was delicious, environment was good and the waiters were all very friendly. I personally like the Steamed Siakap very much. The soup was a bit spicy and sour. I like the taste...

The gathering ended around 11pm, chatted until almost forgot the time. I really had a very nice gathering. A couple of them, I think I did meet them up since I graduated from university. How time flies ~~

Activities During Pregnancy ~

Friday - Yesterday after lunch, passed by a stall selling coconut water. I remembered my mum and the nurse told me last month, that I should start drinking some coconut water from now, perhaps once a week. So I stopped by the stall, and bought myself one fresh coconut water to drink ~~ Since the weather is very hot, so the coconut water does gives some refreshing feel in the afternoon. I heard from some friends and colleague that, coconut water can help to reduce jaundice in newborns.

At evening, I met up university's coursemates at One Utama for dinner. While waiting for them to arrive, I went to Mom's Care to shop for some baby stuffs as now they are having sales. Finally bought the baby's blanket which I have been wanting to buy. Now they are having 20% discounts for the blanket, so I bought a blue one, as I had bought a pink colour blanket before this. So now baby has 2 blankets, can on and off change if either one gets dirty. Besides, after scouting around in the shop for a while, I bought a pack of washcloth (8 pcs for RM10) and a pair of long sleeves clothes (RM15.90 for one pair with pants) which are now sold as 'Best Buy' items. Then, I bought a cute bib and one Nappy Time Change Cream ('Buds' brand). I saw a few mummies also bought this brand when I was in the shop. The salesgirl explained to me that the ingredients used in this particular brand are all from the natural plant based ingredients. So I decided to buy one as well.

Saturday - Today I went to attend a public forum organized by the Mamil Mama Gold Club at KL Hilton. Hubby needed to work from home, so I went alone. It was quite a crowded event. A lot of mummies-to-be were there, about 300++ participants. I met up my old friend there, who was one of the staff on duty for today. I paid RM10 for the participant fee, and received a bag of freebies after my registration. The freebies include one 'OSIM' uSnooz Massage Wrap, some milk powder samples from 'Mamil Mama', MPH vouchers and a packet of baby + mummy's essentials from 'Pureen'. The massage wrap looks useful and the bag from Mamil Mama gold club looks nice as well. It was quite an interesting forum which I got to learn knowledge on nutrition during pregnancy, got to know what can be eaten and what to avoid during breastfeeding and how to keep myself healthy ~~
Speakers are all very knowledgeable on the topics that they are presenting and got fashion shows to watch as well.

The forum ended with a high-tea session. No doubt, the food at KL Hilton still as delicious. Although we only paid RM10 per person, the organizer did not seem to be stingy on the high-tea. They served quite a varieties of food which include snacks, kuehs, 'dim-sums', sandwiches, cakes, satay, fried meehoon and others.

I had a great and fruitful day. Got to met up an old friend, and chatted for a while before I left the hotel.

Looking forward to attend this kind of public forum again in the future ^_^

Wonderful Tonic Soup for Post-Natal

Last night after dinner, hubby suggested to go to the ‘Excellent Herbal Food Centre’ located at One Utama, LG. He said can try out their dessert there again. After the recommendations from the waitress, we ordered the ‘Double-boiled Snow Jelly with American Ginseng, red dates and white lotus seed’. The waitress kept on emphasized on the red dates. She asked us must remember to finish up the red dates as they are from very good quality dates.
Yeah, indeed this dessert is very delicious and must drink it in hot ~~ The taste was quite different from the other dessert which I have tried earlier...

When we were at the cashier paying up the bill, I saw this brochure. I find it quite interesting, so decided to take one copy back and share it. It is a list of tonic soup for post-natal with all the ingredients listed in it. I do not know much about tonic soup, don't have any knowledge about chinese herbs as well, so I find the information is quite useful for pregnant ladies like me to read… I scanned the brochure, but I think the wordings are a bit small to be read. Hope the information I scanned is clear ^_^

~English Version~

~Chinese Version~
For those who are interested in the tonic soup, perhaps one day can drop by the shop to have a look personally to find out more. A lot of things to see and explore over there… Do check it out!

My Sunday at home

Today, didn't have any plans to go out, so decided to stay at home, cleaning up room, and tidying up living room with the assistance of hubby, and packing up my clothes which I might not be wearing for the next 6 months. Then, leisurely resting and watching a comedy movie at home.

Took our late lunch at Old Town White Coffee which is near our house. After my afternoon nap, I cooked our dinner for tonight as planned earlier. Just a simple mee soup because don't really want to tire myself too much after a day of cleaning up the house.

Boiled the soup with anchovies and carrot and added in some spices, then cooked the vegetables, prawns and fish balls and boiled the mee (which looks like pan mee type). I like this type mee texture very much...

*****Deng*****Deng*****Deng*****

My mee soup is ready after adding in the egg!!

A simple and yet satisfying dinner... The chillies are given by my colleague which she brought back from Vietnam. Super-duper spicy but very nice and go well with the mee ~~

A Trip to Hartamas Shopping Centre

Well, have been wanting to buy an ear thermometer for our baby's future use, looking around for some time and surveying a few models. Ear thermometer is one of the things we want to buy in our baby's checklist. Finally decided to buy one from Microlife brand. First time saw this brand was at Babyland at SS2. The price we saw was RM189.00 with a 20% discount during sales period. As we find the price is a bit on the high side, so we KIV it first. Went to a few pharmacies, checking out the price but they were all about the same until when we went to shop at Caring Pharmacy. The price is RM119.00 nett.

So today after work, hubby and I went to Hartamas Shopping Centre to scout around, as there is a Caring Pharmacy there. He has decided to buy there as we found the price is quite reasonable. After compared a few similar types of thermometer and the price, we sticked to our initial plan, which is to buy the Microlife Ear Digital Thermometer. This model comes with a storage case and 20 probe cover. On the box, it is written: For hygiene and accuracy purposes, prior to every measurement, a new undamaged probe cover must be fitted on the measuring probe. So we also bought a box of the probe cover to store at home for future use.

When we went to pay at the cashier, she asked us, do we have any Bonuslink card to collect points? So I took out my Bonuslink card for her to collect points and when hubby about to pay for it, I saw an 'Instant Redemption' sign at the cashier. After explaining by the cashier, only we got to know that we can use our points to redeem the things we bought. Hahaha... after she checked my points availability, I actually have gotten enough points to redeem for both the thermometer and the probe cover. Hehehe... so happy!! This means that, I get the buy those things which cost RM139.00 for free!! Well done, Bonuslink... After all these years, I finally got to make use of your points to redeem something useful :)

We happily walked out from Caring Pharmacy and found ourselves a place to sit down for a cup of tea at San Terri Cottage... I am a fan of flower teas and beautiful cakes. When I passed by this shop, really couldn't resist myself not to walk in ^_^

I ordered a slice of 'Chantily' cake and '1001 Night Tea' for 2 persons. This flower tea is a blend of black tea and green tea together with sunflower blossom, rose petals and strawberry. The cake is really taste very delicious, not very sweet and texture is very soft, with some fresh fruits on top. I very like it. As for the tea, this is the first time I tried, very refreshing smell and even hubby also like the taste ~~

29th Weeks of Pregnancy

Today marks my 29th weeks of pregnancy. Two days ago went for my monthly gynae check-up, and my baby is weighing approximately 1.5kg now. Feel relieve that baby is growing well and hope that the little minor accident I had the other day, did not hurt him... This time, baby's face is facing down, so cannot see his look clearly. So didn't get to capture a nice picture of him. Hope he will not hide from us again next month ~~ I took the 2nd dose of the injection during this round of check-up. Luckily the jab this time is not as pain as the first dose which I took last month.

A few of my friends have been asking me to share my photo during my pregnancy, but I did not take much photos during pregnancy period due to my not so pretty look. But I managed to shot this picture during my 27th weeks of pregnancy, when I first time wore this new maternity dress to work. Hehe... Hope you all can still recognize it is me in the picture :)

Spending a few hours after dinner, searching for a new free template, figuring out how to make use of the template, and make it nicer and better than the previous one.. How to add this and that in the blog for easy reading and browsing...

Finally, my blog has a new look again!! How is it compare to the previous one? I am still updating the features, as some of them went missing after I changed to this new template. Stay tune ~~

'Shaping Your Child's Best Future' Public Forum

Due to the AH1N1 numbers in Malaysia are increasing, the hospital which I am supposed to attend the antenatal classes with hubby has postponed the classes until further notice. Perhaps might be postponed to August, depends on the conditions, as the hospital does not encourage pregnant ladies to go to the hospital so often as precautions. So, they decided to postpone the July antenatal classes.

So, after joining the Mamil Mama Gold Club, so once a while will log into the website to have a look and happened to know that they are organizing a public forum on the 18th July. After discussed with hubby, I decided to enrol, as hubby is not free on that Saturday, needs to work, so I will go myself to pass by time. Hopefully can gain some new knowlegde from there as well as to see what freebies they have!! Hehehe... More information about the forum can view at: http://www.dumex.com.my/whats_new_2009/article/2009_Shaping_Your_Childs_Best_Future

See you all there!!

MyStoryBook - Create Your Own Story Now!

Recently, saw my buddy, Amy, did herself the photobook online, very nicely done… I got to know this online photobook thingy sometime like 2 years ago when I had my ROM ceremony. Subscribed to the E-Newsletter and have been receiving their updates through email all these while. Hehe, but I am a little bit lazy to put in all the ROM photos and make it into a photobook, so I compiled them halfway and gave up already…. After saw Amy’s blog posting, really feel the urge of compiling the photos and doing it all over again! Will seriously find a time to do it. Hahaha… But the online software I used is from this website: http://www.mypublisher.com. Donno is it the same one? But I think the software usage should be about the same...

Alternatively, for those who staying nearby PJ area, can consider this website as well, if you are like me, a little bit lazy to create your own photobook: http://www.mystorybook.com.my. You can visit the shop to find out more details. The different is that this shop will help you create and design the photobook instead of you create yourself online. I recommended this newly opened shop located at the Tropicana City Mall to my newly got married colleague, Reyna. She did her honeymoon photos album there and she is a very satisfied customer according to her. Oh ya, here I also wish to congratulate my colleague, Reyna and her hubby!! Wish both of you live happily ever after ~~

I think she added some pages from the original package, so total the album has 36 pages. One of the album photo pages which I would like to share:

I browsed through her album in office. I personally find it very unique and very nicely done. Quality of the paper also not bad. Price is considered on the reasonable side too ~~ Do check it out at the shop if you are interested to create one as well :) Happy storybooking!!

28th Weeks of Pregnancy

Today marks my 28th weeks of pregnancy ~~ How time flies!! 12 more weeks to go, perhaps earlier, or perhaps later, I am able to meet up with my baby soon... Phew, 12 more weeks, not very long right? Hehehe...

Yesterday was Metrojaya Members' Day. As promised by hubby, he will bring me for shopping and to buy some baby things to bring back to Taiping, since tomorrow night we are heading back Taiping. We can bring those stuffs back, to wash, clean up and put there.

We bought a pair of short sleeves shirt and pants, as advised by my friend, Claudia, coz now weather very hot, short sleeves might be a better choice. The first 2 pairs of shirts we bought for baby were long sleeves. It is better to prepare some short sleeves shirt. I am bringing it back to let MIL sees, if she finds it ok, then perhaps I will stock up again :)

Haha, finally bought this 'quack-quack' duck which I wanted to buy long time ago. This duck is a water temperature indicator and I can also use it as a bath toy for baby, and I myself also like it very much. Since it is now sales period, got 20% discount, hehehe, so bought it without thinking twice...

Hubby and I saw this bean pillow for some time already. As we find that, it is a bit expensive for the price of a small pillow, so never thought of buying it. But after considering, I decided to buy it, since it has 10% discount. After discount, the price is at RM31.40, hopes it is a worthy buy... The function of this bean pillow is to place on baby's chest to provide a sense of security and comfort. Besides, we bought another pair of mittens and booties for baby as well...

My fren, HH's mum (Ah Bao), told me that, I should get some breast pads and breast milk storage containers for myself, if I wish to breastfeed my baby. So I saw the breast pads got 'Buy one box free one box' promotion, so I bought it, in case I need to use them later. But the containers are too expensive, perhaps one day when I free, I go online to purchase, it might be cheaper online. Will survey first before buying...

So, all these things, I am going to pack them in a box, and will bring them all back to Taiping tomorrow...
